(Musical Instrument Digital Interface) device.
This data may be system exclusive and/or standard MIDI parameters that can
dramatically alter the sound of a MIDI file. However, the sound quality that
you hear depends largely on the quality of the sound samples in your MIDI
device (synthesizer/sound module/sound card).<p>Have a listen to my General

The MIDI files on this site are in General MIDI
format and will sound good on most devices that support GM. For example, a
soundcard using either wavetable sound or a software synth, an external GM
or GM2 sound module, or perhaps GigaStudio with 500+ MegaBytes of GM of
samples). If you have a SoundBlaster or other sound card that supports
SoundFonts (Sf2) sound banks there are many excellent Sf2s available for
download.
